The University of Sheffield Lifesaving Club was founded in 2014 and has since become an active member of the BULSCA community. With around 20 members, we’re one of the smaller sports clubs at Sheffield - but that doesn't stop us attending every league competition and achieving some great results. In 2015 and 2016 we achieved 3rd place at the Student Championships, and we finished the 2017 season with 5th place in the A and B leagues.

We train three times per week; with two sessions in the pool and one dryside first aid session. Whilst the club is based at the University of Sheffield, students from Sheffield Hallam University also train and compete as part of the club. Our training sessions are divided into practising competition skills and completing qualifications such as the RLSS Survive and Save awards. More information about the club can be found on the University’s club sport page:

We’re always keen to welcome new members - we hold several free taster sessions at the start of each semester in September and February. These sessions are suitable for all abilities, whether you’re an experienced competitive lifesaver or a complete beginner. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for more details of these events. For information on how to join the club or for any other enquiries, the best way to contact us is by email or message via our Facebook page. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
