Warwick University Lifesaving Club started up back in 2002 along with the formation of BULSCA, the governing body of university lifesaving clubs. It is one of the smaller sports clubs present at Warwick University, but with just under 40 members this year it is club that has a growing popularity across campus. Going forward into next season, we have a committed and enthusiastic exec that will help to promote the presence of the club even more in the forthcoming academic year. We compete in both the BULSCA League competitions and National Student Championships every year, always producing impressive results despite being a club with fewer members. The most notable performances this season were joint 3rd on Speeds day of Student Championships and 4th place in the A league at Loughborough competition.

We have a regular training programme consisting of four sessions a week, with negotiations for a fifth going into next year; these include pool fitness sessions, aquatic SERC sessions in conjunction with Survive and Save awards, and first aid dry-side sessions, which allow our members to practice all the aspects of competing in lifesaving sport. If you wish to find out more about the club and what we do, please visit the WULSC web page: http://homepages.warwick.ac.uk/~suabz/

We always welcome new members with open arms, and provide taster sessions at the beginning of Terms 1 and 2 which are suitable for lifesavers of all abilities to attend and learn about what it is that makes a Warwick University Lifesaver! Our social media pages are the best places to watch for information on when these sessions will be taking place so that you too can be part of the Warwick Lifesaving family! For information on joining the club or for any other enquiries, our dedicated exec have always got their eyes on the social media pages, or you can contact us directly via email if this suits you better, so please feel free to get in touch and we will try and help in any way we can!
