This BULSCA Awards were introduced in the 2017-18 as a method of uniting the members of BULSCA and recognising exceptional achievements of our members and clubs.
The 2017-18 BULSCA Committee decided upon three different awards to recognise all aspects of lifesaving. These awards are:
- BULSCA Lifesaver of the Year
- BULSCA Volunteer of the Year
- BULSCA Club of the Year
BULSCA Lifesaver of the Year
This award is voted on by the committee and is awarded to a BULSCA Lifesaver who has shown exceptional achievement in Lifesaving.
BULSCA Volunteer of the Year
This award is voted on by BULSCA Clubs and is awarded to an individual who has shown unrivalled commitment to Lifesaving and promoting Lifesaving activities within their club, branch and region. This individual has made a significant impact in Lifesaving.
BULSCA Club of the Year
This award is voted on by the committee and is awarded to the club which has shown commitment to promotion of lifesaving within the university and wider community.
Nominations open on the Sunday of the BULSCA Championships. In order to nominate a recipient for the awards, the following information will be required:
- Nominee/Club name (award dependent)
- Proposer name
- Which award the nomination was for
- Reason for nomination
The nominations will close before the AGM and the committee and club captains/chairs will vote on the nominees.
The 2017-18 BULSCA committee decided to announce the winners of all three awards at the last BULSCA League Competition of the season (prior to the results of this competition). Future committees may decide on a different manner of presenting awards
